Data Sheet DAHLAR RELEASE BAG 125
Economical vacuum bag with excellent release properties
fH CDESCRIPTION
Dahlar Release Bag 125 is an economical film designed for both vacuum bagging and release applications. It
can be used for cures up to 285 F (140 C) and will release from most resins associated with aerospace, marine,
and recreational products. This formulation has improved tear resistance and elongation over products
previously offered as low temperature, multiple process films.
Dahlar Release Bag 125 (0.001 inch or 25 um) is the ideal release film for polyester or vinyl ester resins as well as
epoxies and phenolics. See the release film section. It is also offered with our embossed, cracked ice pattern
making it a breather, release film and vacuum bag all-in-one.
BENEFITS
+ Reduce inventory cost with economical single choice film option for use as bag or release film.
+ Tough, strong, and good elongation make bagging much easier than with other low cost products.
+ Embossed version makes compaction and debulking faster and cheaper.

Vac-Pak HS8171 is a hydrophilic material. Moisture and water act as plasticizers. The level of moisture content at time of
use is therefore an important factor for successful performance. All nylon films absorb water. The higher the moisture
content the more flexible they become. Conversely at lower moisture levels flexibility is limited.
Do not store rolls vertically on their ends.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
TACKY TAPE

SM5126 is a pressure sensitive sealant tape, in roll
form that is designed to adhere various bagging films to platen
surfaces. It has been successfully used with silicone blankets,
nylon and PVC films. Compatibility and tenacious adhesion are
evidenced on a variety of tool surfaces. Typical cure cycle
temperatures requiring a positive bag seal from ambient room
temperature to 450 F (232 C) are easily accommodated.

ADVANTAGES:
Easy to apply by hand (User friendly)

TYPICAL PROPERTIES:
Ideal for oven or autoclave cure
Room temperature to 450
o
F (232
o
C) cure cycles
Strips clean from various tools surfaces
Tenacious adhesion to nylon films and tool surfaces
Non-Hazardous and thermally stable
APPLICATION:
Apply by hand to a clean dry tool or platen with release paper on
top. When the sealant is in position remove the release paper
and lay the film on top. Apply pressure by hand or roller on the
sealant to obtain maximum adhesion and to ensure positive
vacuum. It is recommended to strip below 150
o
F (66
o
C) to
minimize or reduce the parts from becoming warped. SM 5126
can be stripped without leaving a residue on metal tool surfaces
that have been cooled to room temperature.

PERFORMACE TEMPERTAURE RANGE:
Application Temperature Range: 45 F (7 C) to 120 F (49 C)
Service Temperature Range: Room temp. to 450 F (232 C)
